Interventional Pain Management is becoming popular day by day. With these minimally invasive procedures many surgeries can be avoided and at the same time these are the only/ main options to treat pain in many situations.
Thus Facet joint block, Radio-Frequency neurotomy, Provocative discography, Ozone nucleolysis, Percutaneous discectomy, Percutaneous vertebroplasty, Spinal cord stimulation, Spinal endoscopy etc. has radically changed the management of spinal pain.
We are going to organize a workshop on basic and advanced pain management procedures at Charnock Hospital, Kolkata on Sunday, 13th April 2008. Apart from live demonstration of these procedures, there will be one-to-one interactions with experts (national and international), hands-on training of some procedures on mannequin/skeleton, Video demonstration of different procedures, C-arm handling on a skeleton, feeling and operation of different equipments and instruments like radio-frequency generator, ozone generator, percutaneous discectomy set, discmonitor for provocative discography, percutaneous vertebroplasty set, epiduroscopy etc.
Registration
There will be limited seats for 40 participants on first-come first-served basis. Please register your name early. Last date of registration is 5th April 2008. Registration fee: 700.00 INR for Indian delegates, 50.00 USD for foreign delegates for basic procedures. For advanced procedures it is 2000.00 INR for Indians and 75.00 USD for foreigners. Basic and Advanced Workshop
In the basic course there will be different epidural block including transforaminal epidural, facet joint injection, stellate ganglion block, Lumber sympathetic & ganglion Impar block. All other procedures including Radio-Frequency procedures, provocative discography, ozone nucleolysis, percutaneous discectomy, percutaneous vertebroplasty, spinal cord stimulation, and spinal endoscopy are included in advanced procedures. Participants of advanced workshop will automatically be included in basic workshop as well.

Understanding CT and MRI: CT and MRI are very important diagnostic tool for Pain Management. Basic guidance to understand CT and MRI
Operation of Instruments: Touch, Feel and Operate the instruments. Learn to operate different equipments and instruments like radio-frequency generator, ozone generator, percutaneous discectomy set, discmonitor for provocative discography, epiduroscopy etc.
